Luther Teguh Margono

Born on 27 October 1969, Luther Teguh Margono is an imaginative and creative man. He holds a degree in Economy, while his wife, Kartika D. Harsono, holds a double master's degree, which she earned in the United States. Together, they set up a workshop where they could design and craft a variety of furniture pieces, home wares, handicrafts, and frames.

"It's still very fresh in my mind how it all began," recalls Luther. "We started the workshop in our own house, which had already limited space. We even had to place our mattress over boxes to sleep! This meant that every time we sold a piece, our makeshift bed kept getting lower and lower! Now we've finally been able to open our workshop elsewhere, and our little boy can grow up in a proper home."

Luther credits his progress and success to his willingness to continually learn new things. For him, improvement follows knowledge.

Luther is continuously searching for new, eco-friendly materials for his original designs. He tends to use medium density fiber (mdf) boards as the base material, because it has a low moisture content, which minimizes the risk of cracking, especially at the joints in the corners.
