Mansoor Ali

"Hello, my name is Mansoor Ali and I come from the fascinating town of Saharapur, a town world famous for woodcraft. It was a very common sight to see people working with wood in every household. My father wanted to do something different and got himself into the ready-made garment business. I was studying then. After completing my 12th standard, I quit school to join my family business. I worked with my father for three years, but somehow I was not satisfied. So I left my father with my brothers.

"While I was looking for an opportunity to change my career, I happened to meet an old friend who was working in wood. He invited me to join him and I worked with him for two years. During that time, I learned about the techniques and designing. It was a wonderful experience.

"After I mastered the art, I ventured out on my own. First I purchased tools and later I invited other artisans to help me. After that, there was no looking back. I've had the opportunity to exhibit my designs throughout India as well as in Mauritius and South Africa. I am very glad to be associated with Novica. It gives me great joy to be able to display my products to even more parts of the world."
