"Today, besides my research, I build things from discarded materials to give them a new cycle of life. I believe in recycling and preserving the environment."
"I was born in Lima on September 2, 1979, and grew up there. My father is an engineer and my mother had an inclination for the arts, although she never studied art. This influenced me from an early age.
"I studied forest engineering in the Universidad Agraria de La Molina, and also studied art and sculpture at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica. In addition, I took courses in business administration and in computerized design.
"Art interested me from the time I was a child. I loved playing with clay and branches, and created figures and images. I also built things with Legos and took apart electronic objects to create my own designs. This artistic interest continued in school, where I took classes in carpentry, ceramics, drawing and painting.
"My parents tell me that when I was only six years old, in first grade, I did a drawing that participated in different exhibits in Germany before it was returned to me when I was in fourth grade. Another time, in my carpentry class, they had to tie me to my chair to control and help channel my creative energy.
"I love nature and animals. Today, besides my research, I build things from discarded materials to give them a new cycle of life. I believe in recycling and preserving the environment.
"My work is my passion. It is a lifestyle; it is my own philosophy. My motivation lies in discovering and applying new ecological materials. This stimulates my need to create, to transcend, and to do this for the sake of doing it.
"I hope to create a collective ecological conscience to live in harmony with the planet, and to transmit these concepts to my family and to the whole world. For me, this implies a transformation on every single level.
"This is how I see my art — as a medium to transform and touch the most sensitive parts of beings like me and stake our beliefs on the planet's equilibrium.
"When you choose my artistic yet functional designs, you are actively collaborating in recycling and also to preserve our planet. This is the result of supporting the independent recyclers in the streets who share their work and participate with the artist."
